Aniol Update

Due to root canals when I was a child, I have to get crowns on my two front teeth. This is a before picture and a picture with temporary crowns. The new ones will be ready in a few weeks.

This post is for the more technologically illiterate members of our family for whom this site is a bit confusing!

First, the site is composed of two primary sections — the blog (which you are reading) and the photo gallery.

When you come to ScottAniol.com, you automatically see the blog. Here is where we will post family updates, etc. You can subscribe to receive an email each time a post is added to the blog by typing your email address in the box marked “Subscribe for Updates” in the right column of this page. We will also post on the blog each time pictures are added to the photo gallery, so if you are subscribed, you will be notified of that as well. When you click on a picture or a link to an album in a blog post, you are automatically taken to the photo gallery.

To survey the photo gallery yourself, simply click “Pics” on the top menu bar or “Pictures” in the right column. You will immediately see a list of photo albums organized with the most recently added albums at the top of the page. Simply click on an album to view its contents.

When you click on an album, you will find yourself in thumbnail view. Here you will see small samples of each picture. Often albums have multiple pages, so be sure to click on the page numbers at the bottom to view subsequent pages.

To view a picture larger, simply click on its thumbnail. You now find yourself in image view. At the top of the view, you will find the following icons:

This will take you back to thumbnail view.

This will display image information below each picture such as file type and size.

This button will allow you to view the whole album as a slide show.

You can email a link to this image with this button.

Use these buttons to scroll through the images in an album.

Each image page also has a handy film strip beneath the picture that tells you what images are coming next. Use the far left image or far right image to scroll — clicking on one of the center images will keep the film strip in the same place.

You also have opportunity to comment on each picture on this page!

Note for saving images: Do not save an image for printing purposes in this view — the image resolution is too small. Click the image one more time to view its larger size. Once the new window has opened, simply right click and select “Save Image As” to save the image to your hard drive.

The Gallery Menu in the right column has some other helpful tools as well, such as Last uploads, Last comments, Most viewed, etc. To go back to the main gallery page, simply click Album list.

[thumb:1912:l]I’ve posted some pictures from Betsy’s visit. She was a great help to Becky. They cooked a bunch of meals and froze them, cleaned, finished the nursery, and packed Becky’s hospital suitcase. I put up the curtains in the nursery, and Donny, Matthew, and I made some progress on the upstairs.

I just added pics that Betsy took of Becky and I when we were in Greenville. I have posted them all, and then I posted some creative edits of many of them, so be sure to look at the end of the album. See the album here.

This new site software (actually I’m utilizing two different programs) is a huge improvement over our previous site that I simply programed from scratch. I (hopefully Becky too!) will be posting various journal entries here on the main page occasionally, and just like before, pictures will be posted on the “Pics” page. I think you’ll find the picture gallery software to be very nice. You can leave comments (either here or on the pictures themselves), too.

I am currently adding all of our pictures. This new site software has some great features that I think everyone will appreciate. Soon all the pics will be up to date!
